Landen Bosak lived with the unwavering belief that everyone has something to say—and that it is our responsibility to listen.
He showed the world what it means to presume competence: to believe that every person, regardless of how they communicate, is thinking, feeling, learning, and deserving of the same opportunities as anyone else. For Landen, this wasn’t just a belief—it was a truth he lived and advocated for every day.
Landen dreamed of a world where nonspeakers are not only included—but truly understood. He knew that inclusion means more than being in the room.
It means being given a voice, being respected, being challenged, and being seen as whole and capable. His vision was one of classrooms that teach with high expectations, communities that listen without assumptions, and systems that recognize intelligence beyond speech.
We honor Landen by continuing his work—and by ensuring that all nonspeakers are given the chance to be fully known. We honor Landen by continuing his work—and by ensuring that all nonspeakers are given the chance to be fully known.
The Landen Bosak Award
At this year’s 9th annual Motormophosis conference, one exceptional advocate will be presented this award in honour of Landen Bosak. Landen was a friend to all, an artist, poet, and a speller who was deeply passionate about advocating for nonspeakers. In his name, Spellers & Allies Advocacy Network (S&A) is proud to highlight a nonspeaker / AAC user who has made a significant contribution in advocating for communication access.
Spreading love and gratitude to everyone who fights for nonspeaking voices. The winner of the Landen Bosak Advocacy Award will first be announced at Motormorphosis.

Speller Access Fund
We understand that there are considerable financial obstacles for families these days, and we don’t want finances to be a barrier to accessing communication. So we actively raise funds to help new spellers who need financial assistance to afford S2C sessions with a Certified S2C Practitioner. I-ASC’s S2C Speller Access Fund provides qualifying individuals with the following:
• Set of stencil letterboards
• Two workbooks
• Five sessions with a Certified S2C Practitioner
